Admin & OwnerRoute: /classes4 min read

Organize students into batches, set class timings, assign faculty, and manage batch capacities.

Quick Answer

How do I create and organize batches in TutionMat?

Open /classes, click [+ Create Batch], enter the Batch Name (e.g. Class 10 CBSE Math Morning), select the Subject, Class Level, Classroom room number, and assign the Primary Teacher. Set the monthly tuition fee and save.

Key Takeaways for Coaching Admins
  • Batches keep your timetable, attendance roll calls, and fee structures organized.
  • Assign faculty instructors to give teachers selective access to their specific batches.
  • Track batch capacity and occupancy to avoid overcrowded classrooms.
  • Archive completed cohorts while preserving historical attendance and fee ledgers.

Creating a New Batch Step-by-Step

Follow these 5 steps on the /classes page:

1

Launch Batch Modal

Button: + Create Batch

Click the blue [+ Create Batch] button on the top right of the /classes screen.

2

Configure Batch Identity

Modal Inputs: Batch Name, Subject, Grade

Enter Batch Name (e.g. Class 12 JEE Advanced), Subject (Physics), and Grade/Standard.

3

Set Room & Student Capacity

Inputs: Room Number, Seat Capacity

Assign a Classroom Room Number and maximum student limit (e.g. 40 seats) to prevent overcrowding.

4

Assign Faculty Instructor

Dropdown: Primary Faculty Teacher

Choose the primary teacher from the faculty dropdown. This grants the teacher permission to take attendance.

5

Set Default Monthly Fee & Save

Button: Save Batch

Enter standard monthly fee (e.g. ₹2,500). Enrolled students will automatically inherit this fee. Click [Save Batch].

Pro Tip: Create separate batches for target exam cohorts (e.g. 'Class 12 JEE Mains' vs 'Class 12 CBSE Board') to track syllabus and test rankings independently.
Archiving a batch preserves all past student attendance and payment records while removing it from active daily roll call.
